    Scottish Candles FAQs

Are your candles handmade in Scotland?

Our candles are handmade in small batches. They are hand poured in our studio at our home in Dunfermline, Fife. Every part of the process is done by hand.

How many candles should you have in a room?

This is a matter of taste. Within an hour of burning, the scent from our candles will have filled a room. There is no need for more than one candle per room unless it is a particularly large room, or you wish to create a particularly strong scent.

Do you offer different candles for contrasting times of the year?

The nature of the scents in the different collections tend to lend themselves to different seasons. Flor and Urar, contain fresh and floral scents, are popular in the Spring and Summer seasons. In Autumn and Winter, our woody and gourmet ranges, Fiodh and Bruich, lend themselves to a cosy ambience.

We also launch limited edition scents each season to offer customers something new and unique.

Should I use different scented candles in the same room?

Scent layering is an art form. Each scent in a range will complement the others should you choose to burn them together.

How do you produce your scents?

Each scent has been carefully curated to offer our customers a diverse and unusual range. We do not stock scents that are like those of perfume houses or other candle makers. We dare to be different.
